Grape festival
By end of last summer, an event called the Grape festival was organized in the Piešťany Airport area. It was the first year of a music festival, held in the spirit of entertainment and relaxation – primarily for the young; but more vintage-aged music-festival fans were also welcome. This was the first time when a festival of this type appeared in Slovakia, and it was met with considerable success.
The organizers succeeded in the preparation of good entertainment in the form of the best stars of European electronic scene, as for example the Röyksopp duo of Norway. Performers included the Torbjörn Brundtland and Svein Berge duo, first to appear in Slovakia at this festival in the course of their activities in the field of music.
Other guests at the event were the British Robots In Disguise formation, along with The Subways, Pudding of Mrs. Elvis, Sounds Like This, Vec a Zverina, Opak, and Billy Barman. In spite of an adverse weather, the first year of the Grape festival was evaluated second to none. Participants were having fun till daybreak, leaving with thrilling musical experience.
